There are many styles and kinds of animation from stop-motion and hand drawn, to computer generated. There is also the abstract, experimental, non-narrative, and then the more structured narrative form of animated filmmaking. Although I appreciate many forms of expression my passion lies deepest within the narrative storytelling form, particularly traditional 2D and stop-motion animation.
